WELCOME TO THE MACHINE
A comedic satire that explores the corruption of standardized testing in America. 'WTTM' is a story about believing in the power of the masses as well as one's evolving identity.
In a dystopian America where the population is policed, high school students must show their individual worth by passing a standardized test that determines whether they live or die. However, one student thwarts the system by trying to expose the toxicity and unjustness of the test.
Our story follows August, a student from Province 1985 taking the standardized test that will determine the rest of his life. Just like the SAT's and the ACT's of our time, this test instills great fear in the students who take it. Many students feel like their lives depend on a passing grade on these tests. The story we're telling takes this anxiety and carries it into reality in a comedic manner.
